Times change, and we change with them
Celeborn remembered him of old. One of the proud Noldorin lords who came to Doriath with importunate demands from their yet-prouder princes. Proud? Some might say arrogant! At least they had been rid of Turgon's train of courtiers while Fingolfin's son cowered in his hidden city for three hundred years.
Now here he was once more. The intervening years—Celeborn glanced at his wife, rising at his side—had taught Celeborn to scorn the Exiles somewhat less. Looking into the eyes of Gil-Galad's golden-haired emissary, Celeborn saw death and time had perhaps taught his guest more humility and wisdom also.

The divisions in culture and politics between the Noldor and the Sindar is one of the bits of Elven history that I find endlessly fascinating!
