Six month (and annual) fic round-up

I added 69730 words in the second half of 2013 to the 23,460 I wrote in the first half, making a grand total of 93,190. This fell a little short of my inkingitout target of 100,000 words posted for the year, but as 2013 continued to be full of a lot of Not Fun Real Life (to the point I had writer's block for over 10 weeks in the middle of the year and didn't write a word of fic), I'm pleased with the eventual outcome.

To make up for not writing in any new fandoms in the first half of the year, I added four new fandoms in the last six months: Watership Down (Richard Adams), Earth 2, Power of Three (Diana Wynne Jones) and Haven. While I'm not delirious about where canon has gone recently in Haven, I am very grateful to the show and its characters (especially Duke *g*) for inspiring me enough to break my writer's block (and then some – regularly topping 3000 words a week now!) and for starting me on a streak of writing something every day that's now lasted nearly 5 months.

I wrote stories for the Haven Troublesfest exchange, fic_corner, spook_me, intoabar and journeystory, as well as 5 treats for Yuletide. I also wrote for several prompts left at fic_promptly whenever I needed a plotbunny to keep my writing streak going.

And, as mentioned, I took part in inkingitout, which really helped when I was struggling. I've signed up for 2014 with a slightly tougher goal of getting 125,000 words posted. As part of that, I'm hoping to finish and post my first novel-length story (currently around 12,000 words written.)
