Day 161: Intransigence
Sep. 24th, 2007 09:41 pmThis was inspired by having a rather frustrating day on the work front....
Day 161
Intransigence
Faramir rubbed the back of his hand across his eyes and yawned. It was only the fourth hour, and he had slept well, but the scribbles on the parchment on his desk were inducing catalepsy.
How many times had he tried to find an acceptable formula for this treaty that took account of the concerns of Harad while robustly defending Gondor's rights? He had lost count. Each time, the treaty came back from the Southron ambassador defaced with the same nonsense in different words.
Steeling himself, Faramir read through the amendments once more, looking for any glimmers of common ground.
