Five things to talk about meme

Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your blog and elaborate on the subjects given.
paranoidangel42 gave me: drabbles; characters called 'Sam'; Shep; Andy Murray; the Westcountry.
Drabbles
Ah, drabbles! How do I love thee; let me count the ways.... I got introduced to the (true, 100-word) drabble form about five years ago in the Tolkien fandom and have been obsessed with them ever since. Writing them is something like a cross between producing poetry and solving a logic or maths problem - together with the instant gratification of having something finished. I love them so much I was insane enough to do two drabble-a-day-for-a-year projects in two different fandoms, several drabble-and-art-collaboration series with
sgafan and I'm currently in the middle of another drabble-a-day-for-a-month project, as well as having a lapsed episode drabble project that I must pick up working on again. I must have written over a thousand drabbles by now, and reviewed very, very many for the MEFAs. Did I mention I love them?
Characters called 'Sam'
It's a running joke between me and
scribblesinink that all fandoms have a character called Sam in them, and this can make conversations with fannish friends very confusing. Especially since scribbles has a cat called Sam too, and we were once having a conversation in Yahoo Messenger when she referred to Sam-the-cat and I was trying to work out which Sam-the-character she was talking about. In honour of the ever-present Sams, I wrote a triple crossover drabble.
Shep
Tall, dark, handsome, noble, military type.... How could I not fall for Lt Colonel John Sheppard? *g* One of the things I really like about the character is the complexity (well, when Show writes him that way) - there's some generally well-hidden dark side underneath all that charm. Plus Joe Flanigan's good looks to admire. I think
paranoidangel42 quickly picked up on my obsession since she very kindly got me a photo of Shep signed by JF (and a cute con story for herself *g*), while Shep has provided me with many happy hours of squeeing and mutual bunny-flinging with
sgafan. Even though the show has ended, I don't think I'll stop writing about Shep for a while.
Andy Murray
For those of you on my flist going "who?" - British tennis player. Successful British tennis player, at that! I first started following his career when I read an article about him winning the US Open Junior tournament. I poked around a bit and found a forum for him that was just getting off the ground, and have been hooked on following the highs and lows of his career so far. Mostly highs: I honestly thought - despite the fact he clearly had oodles of talent - that it would be a much more frustrating experience, and that it would take him many more years to be so successful. Yesterday, he won his tenth tour title, has already reached a Grand Slam final, and been ranked number 4 in the world for about six months. I am really hoping that, having got tickets for Wimbledon Center Court (yay!), I'll finally get to see him play live. (I've seen his big brother Jamie play live three times now, but only seen Andy on TV or on the big screen sitting on Henman Hill.)
The Westcountry
Technically speaking, I live in the West Country, although various organisations seem to believe I live in the West Midlands, but I think
paranoidangel42 probably meant for me to ramble on about my love affair with Cornwall - and particularly the far West of Cornwall. I'm a quarter Cornish (my grandfather came from farming and tin-mining stock), and it's probably the part of my heritage I feel most affinity with. I love visiting Cornwall, and urge everyone else to do so if they can: take a look at the pictures from my last trip if you need your appetite whetting.
