Two drabbles written for [community profile] fic_promptly prompts - the theme was "five sentence fills" and both pieces naturally lent themselves to also being fitted into exactly 100 words each.

Prompt: Jericho, Jake, recovery. )

Prompt: Author's choice, author's choice, Big Shoes )

A double drabble inspired by a discussion when looking at the first draft of [personal profile] scribblerfic's When Two Rights Make A Wrong: How did Chavez find out the Army unit he'd infiltrated was being sent to Jericho—and what did he think when he heard the news? Set during 1x22 Why We Fight. Fits into Awesome!Jakeverse, the shared post-season 2 verse being written by Scribbler ([personal profile] scribblesinink) and Tanaqui ([personal profile] tanaquific).

Final Destination )

A drabble written for a prompt left by [personal profile] peaceful_sands at [community profile] fic_promptly: Jericho, Jake & Heather, supporting through this difficult time. Set during 1x02 Fallout. Fits into Awesome!Jakeverse, the shared post-season 2 verse being written by Scribbler ([personal profile] scribblesinink) and Tanaqui ([personal profile] tanaquific).

Alva rested his hand on top of one of the crates of books stacked near the door.... )

I also wrote two drabbles when I was first getting into this fandom.

These were written for [livejournal.com profile] adlanth, who was a winning bidder on my offer of a series of five drabbles as part of [livejournal.com profile] help_pakistan. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] adlanth, for your generous donation!

[livejournal.com profile] adlanth gave me the prompt I'd like the drabbles to be related and from The Silmarillion and/or LotR. Elrond (though not movie!Elrond) and Gil-galad, Maedhros and Maglor are favourites of mine. I like slash a great deal but canon het and gen are fine too.

Elrond and Gil-galad spoke to me, and I think these can be read as slash or gen, depending on the reader's preference.

Warnings: character death, violent imagery

These were written for Denise ([livejournal.com profile] dkpalaska), who was a winning bidder on my offer of a series of five drabbles as part of [livejournal.com profile] help_pakistan. Thank you, Denise, for your generous donation!

Denise gave me several prompts. For the drabble series, I selected the prompt: one of Imrahil’s loves: boats. One of the many things I wondered about when rereading: Those lovely Elven boats from Lorien that the Fellowship used, with two of them left behind, hidden on either shore above Rauros. Did anyone ever find them? And what did they do with them? The title is taken from the Breton Fisherman's Prayer.

These were written for [personal profile] celli, who was a winning bidder on my offer of a series of five drabbles as part of [livejournal.com profile] help_pakistan. Thank you, [personal profile] celli, for your generous donation!

[personal profile] celli and I share an interest in taxfic, and she asked for five taxfic drabbles in five fandoms.

Another drabble that forms part of Awesome!Jakeverse, the shared post-season 2 verse being written by Scribbler ([personal profile] scribblesinink) and Tanaqui ([personal profile] tanaquific).

Jake's search for the crop-duster that will be Ant Aviation's first plane leads him to an old Air Tractor. When he asks Heather to check it out, he's reminded others don't always see her the way he does.

Heather’s ready to answer a question Jake’s asked her before. Two true drabbles written for the [livejournal.com profile] story_lottery prompt "a shadow".

Better Late Than Never )

Follows on from Seven Hours and Fifteen Days. A drabble and a double drabble in which two of Jericho’s residents confront Chavez about his intentions with regards to Emily.

Man to Man )

I was wondering if Johnston told Gail about what he heard of the conversation between Jake and Heather by the Roadrunner in Black Jack. Then I got the first line of this and had to write the rest.

Fool For Love )

Scribbler insisted I write about this moment after she read the first draft of Signs and Symbols. It seemed to lend itself perfectly to being a drabble.

He asked for a flag, and she brought him one…. )

So [livejournal.com profile] scribblesinink pointed me towards the preview of the next Supernatural tie-in novel Bone Key written by Keith DeCandido, and issued a general challenge for people to remix it.

How could I resist producing a 100-word drabble that covered everything that was in the original - without the additional 2700 words of turgidly paced filler?

Bone Key – the drabble remix

"Yaphet?" Sam glanced at Bobby.

"Nut job." Bobby sipped the champagne they were using to toast New Year.

"Really? Sure, we'll check it out." Dean snapped their father's old phone closed. "Let's go, Sam!"

"You takin' that hippie burnout seriously?" Bobby stared incredulously.

Dean shrugged. "Bunch of hauntings, plus some girl got her throat slit and there was sulfur...."

Unexpectedly, Sam backed his brother. "If it’s a real job, we should go. If it isn’t, Dean gets to cut loose in Key West."

The thought that Dean had maybe less than a year to live hung unspoken in the air.

Finally watched another episode and got the drabbles project back on track. *g* Drabbles for the next few eps....

1x06: Skin - Fit for purpose )

1x07: Hookman - Faith )

1x08: Bugs - Outside The Gates of Hell )

Drabbles for the first next couple of episodes. Mostly John-centric, but I couldn't resist drabbling about Dean's underwear. *g*

1x04: Phantom Traveler - Dispirited )

1x04: Phantom Traveler - Rock Bottom )

1x05: Bloody Mary - Only Skin Deep )

[livejournal.com profile] scribblesinink challenged me to rewatch Supernatural from the beginning while we wait for Season 4 to come around, and to write at least one drabble inspired by each episode. (Because where would I be without a crazy drabble project? *rolls eyes*)

So here are the drabbles for the first three episodes. For some reason, they all turned out so far to be John-centric. *g*

1x01: Pilot - The Road Less Travelled )

1x01: Pilot - Mementoes )

1x02: Wendigo - The Hunter and the Hunted )

1x03: Dead In the Water - Movin' On )

tanaquiljall: (Struggle)
I was betaing a 1000-or-so-word SPN story for [livejournal.com profile] scribblesinink which is very charming but she admits herself has a rather slight plot. I remarked that it had made me realise that the reason I only write fic which is either 100 words or 5000+ words - and nothing in between - is that I'd drabble stuff that other people would make into a 1000-word story.

So [livejournal.com profile] scribblesinink challenged me to drabble her story. *g*

First go read The Gift, and then read this )
