Finally watched another episode and got the drabbles project back on track. *g* Drabbles for the next few eps....
1x06: Skin - Secrets and Lies
"That kid of yours sure has some imagination." The motel owner took the room key back from John. "He was telling my boy 'bout how you go huntin' werewolves and vampires, an' how to kill 'em with silver bullets and suchlike. Guess construction don't seem like so much fun to him, eh?"
John smiled weakly. "Yeah. I shouldn't let him read so many comics."
Climbing back into the Impala, John turned to face Dean, riding shotgun. "Son, you need to stop telling people what we do, OK? In a job like this, you can't let most people get that close...."
1x06: Skin - Fit for purpose
The shapeshifter ran its hands down the latest form it had taken, nimble fingers discovering faint scars. Not perfect: this body had been on the wrong end of too much rough play – but now it was time to hand it out, and it was a good body to do it with. Fit and strong. Sliding right hand over left bicep as it flexed the arm, the shapeshifter felt muscles bunch underneath skin. It traced its hand on downwards. There would be a lot of pleasure to be had from how such a body would feel while it did its work....
1x07: Hookman - Faith
Dean knew why Sam had picked the house. And it wasn't Lori's underwear drawer. He felt a shiver of wrongdoing as he quietly forced the lock; breaking into churches went against the grain. Even for someone who didn't have much truck with organised religion.
What he did know was that there were bad things that needed to be sent back to hell or laid to rest, and he supposed there might be angels on the other side. All the rest was just so much talk.
The only things Dean truly believed in were his trusty shotgun, his car – and family.
1x08: Bugs - Outside The Gates of Hell*
John found a parking space on The Oval – rare enough some family-minded spirit must've been watching over him – and hunkered down to wait.
At last he saw Sam exit the Main Quad, one hand curled around books, the other wrapped around the hand of a pretty blonde. Well, that's an improvement!
He looked well. Happy. Maybe the yellow-eyed demon couldn't abide the harsh glare of the Stanford sun. Maybe Sam was safe here.
Just as well, because John couldn't keep watch forever.
Later, John stepped out of the truck and paid his usual amused visit to the Gates of Hell.
