Apparently my muses like cliches....
Aug. 27th, 2009 01:02 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
So my OMG!chatty!muses have been a little manic over the past couple of months: I've just posted a bingo card blackout for
cliche_bingo. *g*
(There are four SGA stories in there, btw, three of which I haven't got round to announcing here yet - oops!)
Before I say anything else, I'd like to thank my chief enabler/cheerleader
scribblesinink, who beta read every single one of the stories. I'd also like to thank
sgafan and
elena_tiriel who beta-read some of the others, especially to check for Britishisms in American fandoms. You guys rock. {{{hugs}}}
So, some stats....
Number of stories: 25 stories
Number of words: 35,560
I had written maybe 4000 words of the very long story just before I got my card – but wow, that's still 30,000 words of fic in two months. And about the same as I wrote in the whole of last year....
Number of fandoms: 7
Breakdown by fandom:
Firefly: 1
Harry Potter: 1 (1 crossover)
Jericho: 14 (2 crossovers)
The Kill Point: 2 (1 crossover)
Stargate: Atlantis: 4
Supernatural: 3 (1 crossover)
Tolkien: 3 (1 crossover)
Number of fandoms I'd never written in before: 2
The two new fandoms are Firefly, thanks to
aranel_took, and Harry Potter, thanks to
elena_tiriel.
I also asked my flist for prompts, and I think everyone who made a suggestion got at least one prompt (partially) filled:
I wrote Good Intentions for a prompt from
altariel. This also includes Imrahil, who was requested by
dkpalaska
I wrote Nothing can be said to be certain and Walk a mile in another man's shoes for prompts from
scribblesinink.
I wrote No Contest for a prompt from
tianaluthien.
I wrote Ain'd Dead Yet for a prompt from
aranel_took.
I wrote In The Deep Places of the World and The Devil Is In The Detail for prompt from
elena_tiriel.
I wrote In The Arms of Morpheus for a prompt from
sgafan.
I would like to go back through and write something for all the other prompts at some point, even if it's only a drabble. Doing the challenge, my muses did default somewhat to what was easiest (hence lots of Jericho stories) but there were some really intriguing ideas that I didn't get to that I'd like to pursue.
And I may get more meta-y on you and do a little bit of commentary for each of the stories about what inspired it, what it was like to write, etc.
