Day 93:A House Divided
Jul. 18th, 2007 10:09 pmThis is a belated (second) birthday present for
telperion1 who wanted a piece about Pelendur's council.
A House Divided
"The North-kingdom is already a shadow of its former self: weak and divided. If the Heirs of Isildur cannot hold even their own, why should we entrust Anárion's legacy to them?"
Heads nodded at Baragund of Lamedon's words.
"Yet Arvedui is of royal blood...," Hador of Pinnath Gelin ventured.
"Diluted with the blood of lesser races, no doubt," Eradan of Morthond murmured. "If we accept this stranger from the North, will we bring another kinslaying down upon the land when our son's sons are grown old?"
Pelendur saw the fear in their faces. Enough! The crown would go to Eärnil.
