Constraints
Though the stone was shielded, Curumo still felt that dark will bent upon him, through shroud and rock and his own spell-wards.
Resolutely each morning he turned his steps from the stairs to the chamber where it rested, determined to be his own master and no puppet.
Reluctantly each evening, his capacity to resist worn down, he would climb the tower, draw back the veil, look into the cruel flame.
When the Dark Lord let him go, he would stumble back down the stairs, shaking with shame and anger.
When the Ring is mine, we will see who is master....
