The Swan Wife
Imrahil, leading the Swan Knights out, glanced back for one last view of his wife: standing tall, head high, if a little pale.
He remembered watching with a battlefield commander's admiration as she marshalled the household at the mettarë ball. While she moved serenely from one group of guests to the next – making introductions, alliances and peace – her quick eyes were noting every detail, letting her direct the servants with a mere word or flick of a hand.
Facing forward to the long road leading to the White City, Imrahil knew he could not leave his home in better hands.
