Obligations

"You wish to stay?" Elrond raised an eyebrow.

Glorfindel smiled. "I am not yet weary of Arda. It is scarce fifteen yéni since last I heard Valmar's bells or trod the streets of Tirion. Besides," he glanced across to where Elrond's sons spoke with their grandfather, "my service to Turgon's kin is not yet discharged. I will do what I can to keep your sons safe and bring them to a reunion to gladden their mother."

Elrond placed his hand over his heart and bowed deeply. "Old friend, my house deserves no such honour, but I thank you for it."
