Day 236: Appreciation
Dec. 8th, 2007 10:39 pmI was doing some Christmas-related things today which inspired this....
Day 236
Appreciation
Rosie loved Yuletide. The aroma of evergreens mixed with mulled wine. Special midwinter dishes baked according to recipes handed down the generations. The family gathered together.
But so many mouths to feed! Not that she hadn't served fifteen for dinner for near ten years. But then they began to marry and bring their own children to the Yule-feast....
Sighing wearily, Rosie sank onto a kitchen chair and closed her eyes. A moment later, she felt a cool weight against her breast and looked down to see a finely-chased gold locket hanging there. "Happy Yule, love," Sam whispered in her ear.
