dkpalaska, if anyone helps me come up with a good title, they will indeed get a drabble as a reward *g*), a drabble about the constellation Soronúmë.
Day 261
as part of the Heavens' Embroidered Cloths series.
Eagle-eyed
"Does the Elder King see everything?"
Denethor arched an eyebrow at his son's question. "I suppose so, yes."
"Like Nurse?" Faramir frowned.
Denethor suppressed a laugh. "Not quite."
"Mama says she has eyes in the back of her head." Faramir spoke gravely.
"I'm sure she does. But the Elder King," Denethor carried Faramir across the room, "has the aid of his great eagles, who fly across all Middle-earth, standing witness to everything that passes.
"And the Kindler has set a great eagle in the sky, to remind us of his love, and warn his foes that his vigilance is unceasing...."
