Well, I was struggling to connect the two universes... but as both Tolkien and SGA are supposed to be real past history (and I think the supposed timelines even mesh), it seemed to kinda work....
Who has the White Tree?
I was actually seeing the White Tree as being a physical representation of or metaphor for the Ancient Gene, which according to SGA mythology has lain latent within the Earth population for many thousands of years.... ;-)
