"Supernatural" is a TV show involving a couple of brothers investigating spooky stuff. (OK, that's a very poor summary, but I hope you get the idea!) mooncross is trying to suck me into the fandom....
Sam has an older brother, so Sam = Faramir. But I'm glad you thought it worked just as a reflection of a modern boy reading LotR even without knowing about Supernatural.
Can you do LotR/HP crossover?
