A Grandmother's Joy
One long tress of golden hair had come unpinned and hung untidily down her back. A grass stain besmirched her robe, clutched in one hand. Such improprieties passed unnoticed as she laughingly bent and made an unsuccessful grab for Elladan. He danced further away from her, while she hunted him across the grass. Elrohir, unmarked for the moment, swooped in and tagged her with a cry of triumph.
Later, still panting a little, they rested under the shade of a tree. Her grandsons leaned against her, heavy with sleep, while she told them tales of heroes from the Elder Days.
