Day 23:
rakshathedemon wanted Faramir getting angry about something, while
dkpalaska was shocked to note that we'd had 22 days of drabbles with no Imrahil—clearly a situation that could not be allowed to continue for much longer.
The Voice of Experience
"Faramir, really—." Imhrahil protested, putting out a hand in an attempt to calm his red-faced nephew.
"How could you be so, so... irresponsible?" Faramir strode angrily about the room.
"Faramir!" Imrahil snapped.
The younger man turned with a glare, but Imrahil was undaunted.
"Your wife is not sick, Faramir. There was little risk to her or the child in showing me how foals are broken to the bridle in her land." Imrahil's expression softened. "I understand your fears. My heart was in my mouth when your aunt, carrying Elphir, insisted on going shrimping. But women are not such fragile creatures...."

Date: 2010-06-23 07:14 pm (UTC)What a wonderful moment! Imrahil at his fatherly best, a glimpse of a good relationship with his niece-in-law, and an obviously close bond with his nephew as both are unafraid to chastise. And I can totally see Faramir's reaction: I have found even the most logical, level-headed and emotionally supportive men can get a bit irrational and overprotective when it comes to their newly-pregnant, beloved wives. A dose of perspective is needed, and your Imrahil deals it out in such a lovely and compassionate way. And great last line-reminder. Thank you!!
Of course, I hope it's not the last we see of The Man in Dol Amroth Blue....

Date: 2010-06-24 06:21 am (UTC)I could see him and Imrahil discussing the topic at length - after all, Imrahil's been through it four times!
