Drabble-a-day

Since the MAJOR forum is very sick right now, here is proof that I *did* write a drabble today. ;-)
I haven't got the exact prompt (since it's in my thread at the MAJOR forum *rolls eyes*), but it was for Teyla's or Shep's thoughts during The Long Goodbye, when Weir/Phebus is forcing Teyla to kill John, to include the words "He cares for you more than you know." and/or "Forgive me, John."
This is actually going to be a pair of linked drabbles, the second tomorrow. Here's the first:
Truth (Trust)
"He cares for you more than you know."
Teyla stared hard at John. No, at Thalen. John's mouth; Thalen's words. How could she believe anything he said?
From their first meeting, John had looked at her, not through her. Time and again, he defended her from the suspicion of others, even when it set him at odds with his own security chief. He saw how her dreams of the Wraith troubled her, and tried to help. And still he could not truly forgive himself for assaulting her, long after she had forgotten.
Thalen lied: she knew how much John cared.

Date: 2006-03-30 06:37 am (UTC)Okay, just as *I* loved the Sparky-ish drabble more than *cough* some...I'm sure *some* will find this more shippy than me. I just find it a beautifully written drabble about friends. *BG*
Thanks for posting! *big hugs*
'Major' fix

*whispers* Well it was intended as just a drabble about friends.... ;-)
I don't understand how anyone can see the scene in Conversion (which was what I meant by "assaulting her") as remotely shippy. *shrug* One of the things I loved about that scene was the way Joe and (especially) Rachel played it, and the fact Rachel put not a spark of attraction or pleasure in Teyla's expression, just fear and disgust.
On the other hand, Weir at the end of TLG is definitely remininiscing more pleasantly, if shamefacedly....
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the drabble. Just posted the second of these two linked pieces as well, so you can have another mini-'Major' fix. :-D

Date: 2006-04-05 09:43 pm (UTC)I don't either! It was an attack, not a kiss (if you see what I mean - in the same way rape is not sex).
Anyway, I came here to tell you how much I liked this pair, especially this one, specially this line:
Thalen lied: she knew how much John cared.
(And I am entirely seeing that in two different ways, depending on what mood I'm in)

Thank you!

LOL Ambiguity is good! (I think....)
