Elizabeth leaned back in the chair, swirling the fiery Athosian aquavit around her mug. Kate sprawled on the bed, leaning on one arm, a hand buried in her tousled hair.
"So, then what happened?" Kate took a sip of her own drink.
"I quit." Elizabeth hoisted her mug in the air. "That was one job I was very glad to leave behind." She grinned. "What about you? Any bad bosses?"
Kate laughed. "How long have you got? My first TA post was for a prof who had to refill his hipflask between classes. Then there was the department head who...."
