prompt: honor
For Auld Lang Syne
Kate made it her business to perform one kind act every day that the recipient didn't expect.
An invitation to a lost-looking new arrival to Atlantis to sit with her at dinner; or taking an interest in someone's hobby, family or (far too often!) pet theory; or a publicly spoken word of praise for a thankless task.
It was something Carson had managed to do every day, just by being who he was. And now he was gone. So Kate honored his memory by trying to spark something of the bright flame that had, all too soon, been snuffed out.
