prompt: sunlight
Set post-Doppelganger
Eulogy
She brought sunlight.
Sometimes like the first touch of dawn after a long dark night: a word, a gesture, her endless quiet patience with those who had seen too much and done too much.
At other times, she lit the city with the slanting beams of a summer afternoon: laughter, smiles, her joy at life and living and loving and friendship.
In private, she burned with the fierceness of noon, giving and receiving pleasure without restraint or reserve.
Harsh duty might cloud her, but still she gave light for others to work by
She is gone; now comes the night.
