rakshathedemon asked for Thranduil fishing on the Anduin with Legolas, and/or Faramir. Faramir almost made it into this drabble but not quite. Maybe he'll come fishing later. *g*

Rest enough

The fly flicked smoothly through the air before landing on the water with a quiet plop. Legolas, indifferent to the chill around his legs, and relishing the gentle tug of river silt washing from between his bare toes, let the current take fly and line gently downstream while he waited for a bite.

He glanced across to where his father, kneeling on the riverbank, was tying another lure with nimble fingers. Light scattered by rippling water danced on silver scales heaped nearby.

Thranduil looked up and smiled. "I see now the wisdom of your choice, Legolas. A fair land indeed!"

Thanks, Jay. {{{hugs}}} I don't buy Evil!Thranduil at all, so I'm quite happy to redress the balance with the occasional Good!Thranduil and Legolas piece, even though I don't write either character much.
