Day 152: Striking A Bargain

phyloxena wanted either (teenaged) son of Denethor smitten by some lord's wife. I wrote about Faramir (of course! *g*) and sgafan asked me What about Boromir? That started a conversation about what would get Boromir smitten.

So, here you have it: smitten Boromir....

Striking A Bargain

Boromir's eyes gleamed as he ran his hand covetously over the length of bronze. "It can send a stone further than a catapult?"

"So claim the Southrons we captured." Falathar of Lebennin gestured ruefully at several holes punched in nearby walls. "They were not so distant when they breached our defences."

Boromir regarded the damage thoughtfully. "If not distance, then power...." He turned back to Falathar. "The armourers of the Citadel must be given leave to study the device and question the prisoners."

Falathar grinned wolfishly. "Aye – if the stonemasons of the Citadel are given leave to repair our walls...."
