[livejournal.com profile] phyloxena wanted either (teenaged) son of Denethor smitten by some lord's wife. I wrote about Faramir (of course! *g*) and [livejournal.com profile] sgafan asked me What about Boromir? That started a conversation about what would get Boromir smitten.

So, here you have it: smitten Boromir....

Day 152

Striking A Bargain

Boromir's eyes gleamed as he ran his hand covetously over the length of bronze. "It can send a stone further than a catapult?"

"So claim the Southrons we captured." Falathar of Lebennin gestured ruefully at several holes punched in nearby walls. "They were not so distant when they breached our defences."

Boromir regarded the damage thoughtfully. "If not distance, then power...." He turned back to Falathar. "The armourers of the Citadel must be given leave to study the device and question the prisoners."

Falathar grinned wolfishly. "Aye – if the stonemasons of the Citadel are given leave to repair our walls...."

Oh, cool! So Boromir has a long history of coveting weapons of power, huh?

*Waxing nostalgic* Reminds me of the cannon in the park that we used to climb on when I was a kid.... not entirely sure why there was a cannon in a park in the suburb I grew up in, but never thought to ask the question then....

And it also reminds me of the piles of cannonballs in the Castel St Angelo in Rome.... that's the clearest memory I have of that place LOLOL!

I can see how boys would be fascinated....

Those men of war! I am sometimes surprised there ever is another generation! Hmm, that was Gondor's problem wasn't it?

Nice one!
