Oops, just squeaked in before midnight. Blame
telperion1 for keeping my nose to the grindstone doing MEFA things!
Anyway, Denise wanted to know What is your take on the first time Imrahil sees "Thorongil" on the Pelennor?
Day 36

Twice blessed is help unlooked for
For a few seconds, he thought it was a waking dream. The stink of blood was in his nostrils; his arms were heavy from dealing death and defending blows; his heart was bowed with the weight of the fallen. Had he, too, met his end - and all his comrades of past years were come to greet him?
For surely Captain Thorongil was long dead. Or, if still alive, enjoying the quiet peace of old age in some distant land.
Imrahil shook his head to clear it – and saw with weary joy it was no dream. Thorongil indeed led their rescuers.
Note: The title is actually from Éomer's words when he and Aragorn meet on the battlefield.

Wonderful! Marvelous! Superb! I can never get enough Imrahil, and you beautifully showed the uplifting of his burdened heart when he realized that, yes, it was indeed the one-time great Captain of Gondor. Also loved the title's parallel with Eomer meeting Aragorn.
Needless to say (but I shall anyway), I loved it! Thank you for doing this one!

If you just link to the main post at http://tanaquilotr.livejournal.com/26541.html that should work.
