Day 95

as part of the Possessing the greatest powers series.

Not Waving But Drowning

She is mistress of the land between the rivers: nimble-footed Nimrodel, singing gaily as she descends from the mountains; icy Celebrant, growing swift and strong as he gathers others to his cause; endless Anduin, for whom Lórien is only a passing interlude in his long journey to the Sea.

The power of the ring flows through her and out of her: flooding her domain to its river limits with music of her own making; washing clean each weary day as if with water new-made by Ulmo himself.

Suddenly, her music fails. In the silence, she hears at last Ulmo's voice.

Marvelous! I think the water theme is perfect, considering how her power is shown via the Mirror in the books. I love the last two lines in particular.

How does Celeborn react to the Ring's passing, in your mind? And will you do Gandalf as well (although he's pretty busy at the time, of course)?

It is very fitting that Galadriel, unlike Elrond, is not *only* relieved. I wonder how much she misses her powers, how much of a sacrifice the Quest was for her.

LOL- damn powerful is right.

She sang Dol Duldur off its foundations and 'laid bare its pits' after the ring was destroyed.
