Another star-story drabble. This one is about Tolkien's constellation Anarríma, which means "Sun Edge" in Quenya. The constellation as never been identified unambiguously, but I have seen it assocated with the modern constellation of the Corona Borealis or Northern Crown. That seemed a pleasing notion to me and led to this drabble.
Day 258
as part of the Heavens' Embroidered Cloths series.
Crowning Glory
"The Blessed Land itself is guarded by great mountains, mightier even than the snow-clad giants marching westwards from this City. And on the highest peak is the throne of the Elder King. From thence, he looks out over all the world, and not a wren falls but he knows of it.
"Now, the Elder King wears no crown, nor has need of one, but above his throne the Kindler has set a crown of stars.
"And though all the world is changed forever and the seas bent, still that crown flames, in token that he watches o'er his children still."
