aranel_took gave me the letter H.
1. holidays - I've developed a taste for travelling. Or perhaps that should be a taste for visiting friends. I've had some awesome holidays in the US in recent years, and I hope there'll be more!
2. Houses of Healing - a special place in Middle-earth, since it's where my favourite Tolkien couple (Faramir and Eowyn) met. I love those scenes in (the book version of) The Return of the King set in the Houses.
3. heheheheh (or hee) - the noise frequently made in IM chats with my fandom friends. It means fun and friendship, and either not taking ourselves too seriously or plotting mischief. *grins evilly*
4. Heightmeyer, Dr Kate - the character in Stargate Atlantis who got me writing long fic again after a long dry spell.
5. home-baking - one of the reasons I enjoy visiting my mum is eating her home-made scones. They're not fancy, but they are yummy and absolutely nothing shop-bought could ever be better.
6. Harvelle, Ellen - my favourite character in Supernatural. (What can I say? I have a thing for secondary female characters who have "interesting" relationships with the lead male characters....)
7. hills - pancake-flat landscapes freak me out and make me feel like I'm going to float off into space; mountains oppress me after a while. I need to be surrounded by "proper" hills on the horizon. Plus there are lots of nice walks up the hills around where I live.
8. Hacking - whether copy or website code. The former (writing for work) allows me to earn money doing something I enjoy more than anything else I can imagine doing for a living. The latter allows me to use my brain to solve technical problems, something I don't get enough of since I left full-time science education
9. Hurinionath - aka the Stewards of Gondor - the family of my favourite men in Middle-earth.
10. helicopter pilots - OK, this is slightly cheating, but how can I have a list of my favourite things that doesn't include SGA's John Sheppard in some way?

Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. Afterwards, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.
