"They do say Buckland is all in an uproar." Widow Rumble absently rearranged the jars of jam on her stall and shook her head disparagingly. "Not that those Bucklanders aren't always having a to-do about something."
"Very true." Farmer Cotton thumbed fresh pipeweed into his pipe while he waited for Rosie to finish her marketing.
"And they say Mr Frodo as just moved back there has gone missing in all the fuss. And young Sam Gamgee too. The Gaffer was full of it. Vanished clean away, they say.... Why, Rosie, dear, are you all right? You're white as a sheet...."
