Daily drabble challenge - Day 18 - As a man may cast a dainty to his cat

Day 18: rakshathedemon asked for Sauron and Shelob. They don't really interact much, but I wondered just what happened when Sauron "would send her prisoners that he had no better uses for... and report brought back to him of the play she made."

As a man may cast a dainty to his cat

"Did he try to run?" Sauron allowed himself a small smile in anticipation of the answer.

"Oh yes, my Lord." The Orc-Captain bobbed his head. "Tried to get back out, but we turned 'im round right quick. Then 'e tried scramblin' up the rocks, but she caught 'im easy enough and tossed 'im down."

Sauron's smile widened "And did he scream?"

"Like a speared Warg, my Lord. An' tried to wriggle away, but she put one claw on 'im to keep 'im there while she stung."

"Excellent!" Sauron clapped his hands. "Such a pity so few prisoners last long enough...."

Gah! Er, very descriptive, as always, and not in a happy way this time... Torture as entertainment fits very well, even when delivered third party.

Well, at least Sauron is kind to his 'cat'; giving her juicy treats and all...

Sauron really needed to get out more; though, he had a very limited scope when it came to entertainment.
